McCain backtracks on 'wasted' comment

Last night on David Letterman's show, John McCain, who is working hard at becoming the new darling of the far right had this to say: “Americans are very frustrated, and they have every right to be. We’ve wasted a lot of our most precious treasure, which is American lives.”

Oops!

Today's he's backtracking: “I should have used the word, sacrificed, as I have in the past.”
